These units were built to house a very large ethanol closed loop extractor.

In the cannabis extraction part of the industry, fire marshals are mandating that these units need to be operated in a space that has a 1-hour fire rated wall. Whether that is a stand-alone room or a shipping container.

Most clients would have the containers moved into a warehouse type setting. This would force them to comply with this 1-hour rating for walls and doors. Inside the container, everything would have a C1D1 rating. Meaning all components would need to be explosion proof. (lighting, LEL meters, outlets, exit signs etc.)

These units would also have very large explosion proof blower attached to them to provide constant airflow throughout the space. If the LEL had a high reading over 20% the unit would sound a horn and strobe and then a VFD drive would kick the blowers up to full capacity. (10,000CFM).

So the ratings that were being met for fire would be a 1-hour burn rate on the walls, ceiling, and doors. This is not a flame spread rating, but a true 1-hour burn. In order to achieve this, we needed to use a mineral wool type of panel.

This unit is very similar to what they might use in the oil and gas industry. They have been used to house combustible or explosive materials.
